I was looking for a good recipe (read simple recipe) for the baby potatoes i had purchased on impulse last Sunday. And i found this delightfully easy recipe on Turmericnspice.com. What inspired me to go ahead with the recipe were these beautiful pictures of the ‘oh-so-simple’ baby potatoes recipe that i read.
Here is my version of it:

Ingredients:
1/2 a kilo of baby potatoes
250 grams dahi (like Simi mentioned not sour)
1/2 tsp of jeera powder
1 tsp of coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp amchur (mango powder)
1 tsp of kasuri methi
1 tsp red chilli powder
Mix all of the above in a bowl along with salt as per taste
Fresh coriander finely chopped for garnishing
2 tbsp ghee or butter
Salt to taste
Method
1. Wash and clean the baby potatoes. Leave the skin on. Pierce the potatoes with a fork. Mix the dahi and spices mixture with the forked potatoes
2. Allow to marinate for upto 3 hours
3. Heat a pan with ghee. Add the dahi mixture with the baby potatoes to the pan and allow to simmer
4. To make sure the water doesn’t dry up and the potatoes don’t char, cover the vessel with a lid and place a small quantity of water over the lid
5. The baby potatoes are cooked when you begin to see the pan getting oily
6. Garnish with fresh coriander
7. Serve hot with rice and daal or as turmericnspice.com suggest with methi puris.
